Hoppers Crossing Shopping Centre

Message from Centre Manager

To our community,

As we enter a five-day lockdown period, I wanted to personally reach out to assure you of Hoppers Crossing Shopping Centre’s steadfast commitment to helping protect the health, wellbeing and safety of our customers, retailers, staff and contractors.

As a provider of essential goods and services, Hoppers Crossing Shopping Centre will remain open and trading, playing an essential role in our community during the next five days by providing convenient access to food, groceries, supplies, household items and medical services, among other essential amenities.

With this essential role in mind, the health and wellbeing of our community remains our unwavering top priority, and we continue to uphold a robust range of measures designed to help mitigate the spread of the virus within our Centre and protect you and your loved ones’ health. For details on what measures we have implemented, visit our website.

This afternoon (12 February), the Victorian Government announced a five-day lockdown for the state from 11:59pm this evening until 11:59pm on Wednesday 17 February. As a result of this directive, you’ll see a few changes in-Centre, including:

  • Restaurants and cafes at Hoppers Crossing are permitted to serve takeaway or delivery only.
  • All non-essential retail, including beauty and personal care service and hairdressers, will temporarily close.
  • Face masks are mandatory to wear while outside of one’s own home.

This is not an exhaustive list of all changes resulting from this lockdown directive. For further details, please visit the Victorian Government’s COVID-19 website: https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/.

As we move into this lockdown period together, it’s important to be clear on what we need from you:

  • We understand this temporary closure of some of your favourite services will be disappointing for many, and we thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.
  • We all have a part to play in keeping our community safe, so when visiting Hoppers Crossing Shopping Centre, we ask that you uphold exemplary hygiene standards, regularly disinfectant or wash your hands, cover your cough, keep at least 1.5 metres from others, and most importantly, stay at home if you are feeling unwell.
  • Wear a mask unless you have a valid reason not to.
  • Plan your trip to Hoppers Crossing Shopping Centre in advance, avoid peak times and plan your route through the Centre.

This lockdown is a challenging moment for us all. What gives us hope, however, is that we have been here before and are ready to act accordingly. We were there to assist you last time and we are here again.

We are continuing to closely monitor updates and advice from the relevant authorities and are prepared to act as the situation evolves. It goes without saying that our community’s health and wellbeing comes first as we navigate this situation together.

We ask for your support in making sure Hoppers Crossing Shopping Centre continues to be a place of kindness and compassion for all our customers and staff throughout this time.

With all that said, we remain open for business and sincerely look forward to serving your everyday needs when you next choose to visit us.

Kind regards,
Patricia Gardiner
